How It Works

What happens at your first visit

1

A private conversation

Your physiotherapist asks about your symptoms, health history and goals in a private, one-on-one appointment. You decide what you are comfortable with at every step.

2

Assessment

Your physiotherapist looks at posture, breathing, hips, back and core. An internal pelvic examination may be offered when it would help, and it is always your choice.

3

A plan you can follow

You leave with a clear explanation and a home program. Treatment may include pelvic floor exercises, relaxation and breathing work, manual therapy and a graded return to activity.

Common Questions

Do I need a referral for pelvic floor physiotherapy?

No referral is needed to book. Some extended health plans ask for a doctor's note before they reimburse physiotherapy, so check your plan if you are unsure.

Is an internal examination required?

No. An internal pelvic examination may be offered when it would help your assessment, and it only happens with your consent. You can say no at any point and still receive care.

Is pelvic floor physiotherapy covered by insurance?
